Police name woman found in Pontefract lake

Police have named a woman who died after being pulled from a frozen lake in West Yorkshire.

Susan Harris, 51, from Pontefract, was discovered in the boating lake near the town's racecourse on Wednesday.

She was taken to Pontefract General Infirmary where she later died. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said an inquest into Ms Harris's death would be held on Friday or next week.

Police said it was not known whether the incident was related to the adverse weather conditions in the area.
