Witness plea over fatal M54 Albrighton crash

A Staffordshire woman who died in a motorway crash is thought to have driven into some foliage before being run over on the carriageway.

The 51-year-old, who has not been named by police, crashed on the M54 between junction 2 and 3 in Albrighton, Shropshire, at 0700 GMT on Sunday.

Police said they believed she got out of the car after crashing and walked into the carriageway where she was hit.

Anyone who saw her leaving a blue Peugeot is asked to contact police.

A number of vehicles are believed to have been involved in the subsequent crash but no-one else was hurt, Central Motorways Policing Group said.
