A Birmingham toddler at the centre of a murder investigation has been officially named as Keanu Williams.

The two-year-old, from Old Moat Way, Ward End, died in hospital on Sunday.

Police said post-mortem tests indicated the child, known as Kiwi, had died as a result of "non-accidental injuries".

A 22-year-old woman and 29-year-old man, understood to be his parents, were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder. Police said the pair had been released on bail on Thursday evening.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "All of the family have been informed and a family liaison officer has been appointed to support them during this difficult time."
