Auto Windscreens takeover to see 250 jobs saved
Some 250 jobs have been saved at Auto Windscreens after part of the collapsed firm was taken over by another company.
The Chesterfield-based windscreen repair firm went into administration on 14 February.
Administrators then announced more than 1,000 workers in Derbyshire and the West Midlands would lose their jobs.
Now Trifords Limited has revealed it has acquired certain trading assets along with confirmation that 250 jobs would be created in the new business.
The firm, part of the Markerstudy Group of companies, said it would retain the Auto Windscreens brand name.
Nigel Davies, who has been appointed to manage the new business, said: "It is fantastic news that the Auto Windscreens brand will continue and from the ashes the phoenix will rise again.
"Auto Windscreens is a highly recognised brand and therefore the name is being retained.
"My aim is to grow the business in order to become a major player in the UK windscreen business."
Markerstudy Group has acquired three freehold sites from the liquidator, including the former Auto Windscreen Limited's Head Office building in Chesterfield.
