Flybe scraps Kent to Manchester route
An airline has scrapped flights from Kent International Airport to Manchester Airport because of low passenger demand.
However, Flybe said it would introduce a new route from the Manston site to Belfast City Airport, which will run three times a week.
Niall Duffy, of Flybe, said: "This is an over water route that in our experience works very well."
Business leaders said scrapping the Manchester route was a blow.
David Foley, of Thanet and East Kent Chamber of Commerce, said: "This is not good news especially coming on the back of the announcement from Pfizer that it was withdrawing from Sandwich."
Tony Dixon, the editor of Airliner World magazine, said he was pleased Flybe was still committed to Manston.
