Peacehaven sea wall fall man named by police

A man who died after falling into the sea while out walking in East Sussex has been named by police.

Darren John Jones, 44, was walking with another man when he fell from the sea wall at Friars Bay, Peacehaven, at about 0920 BST on Saturday.

Mr Jones, of Harrow in north-west London, was found by a lifeboat crew and airlifted to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sussex Police said a post mortem examination will be held on Tuesday.

During the incident, a group of construction workers went to Mr Jones's aid.

One managed to grab hold of him but the force of the waves swept him away.
