A driver who killed a woman in a collision in Northamptonshire last year has been jailed for six years.

Ryan Sodhi, 20, hit a car being driven by 45-year-old Charlotte Swift of Maids Moreton in Buckinghamshire last February.

Northampton Crown Court heard he was on the A422 near Brackley when he went to overtake a van and hit Miss Swift's car head on.

He was convicted of causing Miss Swift's death by dangerous driving.

Judge Ian Alexander QC also banned Sodhi from driving for four years.

He told Sodhi: "You attempted throughout to blame the driver of the Vauxhall van for the case of the accident.

"You have not the slightest bit of remorse for killing Miss Swift and you callously attempted to deceive the jury as to the cause of the accident."
