Car injures three at Woking golf centre

Three people, including two in their 80s, were injured when they were hit by a car at a Surrey golf centre.

An 83-year-old man from the Birmingham area is in intensive care with broken ribs, a punctured lung and several fractures to his pelvis.

An 84-year-old woman, also from the Birmingham area, received minor injuries in the incident in the car park at Hoebridge Golf Centre, Woking.

A woman, 55, from the West Midlands received minor injuries to her foot.

Surrey Police said the incident at the car park in Old Woking Road, which happened about 1500 BST on Sunday, was attended by the air ambulance.

The injured man was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London.

The 84-year-old woman was taken to St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey for treatment and discharged later the same evening.

Police cordoned off a section of the car park while they carried out their investigation.

The driver of the Ford Focus involved is helping police with their inquiries.
