A Devon and Somerset moor rescue team has moved into a new base.

The Exmoor search and rescue team's new centre is based in Pathfields Business Park in South Molton.

It was officially opened by explorer and Exmoor resident Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who said the team was "a vital link in saving people on the moors".

The charity, which is made up entirely of volunteers, started in a caravan nearly 20 years ago.

Sir Ranulph said: "Everyone of the 25 people are experts. They tie in with the ambulance service, the police and everybody else."
