Cornwall man dies after car crashes into wall in Devon

A 65-year-old man has died after his car crashed into a wall in Exeter.

Police said the crash, which did not involve any other vehicles, happened at about 1700 BST on Wednesday afternoon on East Wonford Hill.

The man was believed to be from St Mellion near Saltash and was pronounced dead at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital at about 1740 BST.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the man may have had a medical episode while driving and were making inquiries.

The road was closed for about four hours on Wednesday evening.

Police said the man's next of kin had been informed.
