Fire engine overturns on callout in Suffolk

Three firefighters have been injured after the fire engine they were travelling in crashed on its way to a callout.

Two fire engines were on the way to reports of an incident in Kessingland, near Lowestoft, late on Friday when one of the vehicles overturned on a roundabout in Pakefield.

Firefighters from the other vehicle helped their colleagues at the scene.

Three of the crew was taken to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston.

No other vehicles were involved.

The cause of the accident is not known.

A joint investigation between Suffolk Police and the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service has begun.
