Seven remanded after drugs raids in two counties

Seven people have been remanded in custody charged with drugs and money laundering offences following raids in Northampton and Bedford.

Heroin and cocaine with a street value of several hundred thousand pounds were seized in the raids last Thursday.

Nine properties were searched and six men and a woman were arrested.

They were all remanded in custody at Luton Magistrates' Court on Saturday to reappear at the town's Crown Court on 1 August.

Six people were charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and money laundering.

They are 38-year-old Northampton man; four men, aged 26, 28, 30 and 34, from Bedford and a 19-year-old woman who is also from Bedford.

A 33-year-old woman from Bedford has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
