A man was taken to hospital suffering burns after a fire broke out at an industrial site.

Crews from Hampshire and Dorset were called to a building, which is used as three workshops, at Hangersley Hill near Ringwood at 1152 BST.

About 40 firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control while the man was helped to safety and taken to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Hampshire fire service.

Station manager Steve Ransley said: "Firefighters worked very hard to stop the fire spreading to two other workshops and separate buildings.

"Had it not been for their sterling efforts this would have been a much more serious incident."
