A budget airline is creating 40 more jobs at East Midlands Airport by adding another aircraft to its regional fleet in 2012.

Jet2.com already has two aircraft at the airport and flies to 12 destinations.

It will put Malaga and Murcia on its timetable and expects to add 4,300 more passengers a week to its business.

The airline will hire extra cabin staff, pilots and ground staff at the Castle Donington site in 2012.

Jet2.com handled 100,000 passengers in its first year of operation at the airport in 2010.
