Liverpool drugs inquiry: 11 held and properties raided

Eleven people have been arrested after police raids in Norfolk, Suffolk and Merseyside.

Officers from three forces raided 10 addresses in Lowestoft, four in Liverpool and one each in Ipswich and Norwich earlier.

The arrests followed a Suffolk Police inquiry which centred on the supply of class A drugs in Liverpool being distributed in Ipswich and Lowestoft.

The two women and nine men were held on money-laundering and drugs offences.

The investigation had been ongoing for several months, police said.

Det Supt Chris Mayhew from Suffolk Police said: "Drugs are a major scourge in society and we will do everything to eradicate them as they have wide-reaching consequences, not just for users, but also for their friends and loved ones.

"This has been a complex investigation which has involved people making substantial amounts of money."
