South East Water signs £500m contract with Clancy Docwra

South East Water has signed a maintenance deal to cover its network which could be worth up to £500m over the next 10 years.

The contract, between the water firm and Middlesex-based Clancy Docwra, is one of the largest ever awarded.

It will see the company undertake all repair work of the water main network across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey.

The water network includes 14,500km (9,010 miles) of underground pipes.

Work will also include installing 375,000 meters at customers' homes.

The contract has been awarded up until 2016, with the option for both parties to continue work until 2021.
