Former assistant scout leader faces sex charges

A former assistant scout leader from Oxfordshire has been charged with a series of historic child sex offences, police have said.

Brian Bailey, 42, of High Street, Abingdon, is accused of 29 offences, Thames Valley Police said.

Mr Bailey was an assistant scout leader in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, between the late 1980s and early 1990s, police said.

He is due to appear before Aylesbury Magistrates' Court.

The charges include 12 counts of indecent assault, three counts of inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency and three counts of possessing indecent images of children.

Mr Bailey also faces six counts of making indecent images of children, one of taking indecent images and four counts of supplying cannabis.

The offences are alleged to have been committed against six boys at a property in Aylesbury between 1990 and 2005, police said.
