Wadhurst sex attack probe scaled back
Police investigating a sexual assault on a man in an East Sussex town a year ago have said they are no longer pursuing new lines of inquiry.
The victim was in Wadhurst on 16 July last year when a driver stopped him and asked for directions and a passenger then got out and attacked him.
He said he thought he was going to die during the assault, which happened in The Marlpit.
Det Insp Rob Morland said "all lines of inquiry have been thoroughly explored".
He added: "We will continue to thoroughly investigate any new lines of inquiry should further information be received."
Two men, aged 24 and 31, from Lingfield, in Surrey, who were arrested in connection with the incident were later released without charge.
