Firearms charges over Retford shop raid

A man is facing firearms charges after two businesses in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire were targeted.

The 48-year-old was charged with two offences of possesing a firearm and one of attempted robbery after the raid at Rhythm n' Booze, Retford, on 6 August.

The man, from West Yorkshire, has also been charged with the robbery of a bookmakers in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, on 2 August.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at crown court at a later date.
