Man denies sex attacks on girls in 1980s and 1995

A 64-year-old Cumbrian man has denied carrying out sex attacks on four young girls in the 1980s and in 1995.

Appearing at Newcastle Crown Court, David Bryant, of Rock Cottages, Baycliff, Ulverston, denied four counts of kidnap and four of indecent assault.

The allegations centre on attacks in Hampshire in 1982 and 1983, and in Newcastle in 1995. They involve girls aged between three and five.

Mr Bryant was remanded in custody and a trial will take place in February.

He was arrested following an investigation by the Northumbria and Hampshire forces.
