A woman, who is suspected as a "serial luggage thief" on train services from London to the West of England and Wales, is being sought by police.

Officers said the woman has stolen items from trains travelling to London from locations such as Bristol, Bath, Plymouth and Swansea.

They said there has been seven incidents during the summer.

Det Con Dave Graney said British Transport Police do everything possible to reduce incidents of theft.

"We take the theft of passenger property extremely seriously and one of our primary policing objectives is to reduce the number of people who become a victim," he said.

Among the items stolen was a tan coloured leather Louis Vuitton style hand-luggage case.
