Burst pipe affects water supplies to 2,000 Sussex homes

Water supplies to about 2,000 homes have been affected by a burst mains pipe in East Sussex.

Properties in the Chailey area, near Lewes, have had low water pressure or no water since 08:30 BST on Monday.

South East Water said engineers were working to replace the pipe, near the A275 at South Chailey.

A spokeswoman said most homes would have low water pressure although some properties on higher ground might have no supplies at all.

Repairs are expected to be completed later on Monday.
