About 2,300 people have taken part in this year's Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon events.

Runners tackled two laps of the 13.1-mile (21.08km) course, ending at West Park, as others did a half marathon.

Dominic Croft, of Woodstock Harriers, Oxfordshire, won the main men's race in 2 hours 41 minutes and 36 seconds.

The women's race was won by a Chelmsford, Essex, club competitor, Natalie de Villers, who came home in 3 hours 6 minutes and 39 seconds.

Events included a cycle ride over 12.05 miles (19.4km) and a relay involving teams of five over the half marathon distance.

Organiser Mary Harding said it was a "really lovely day".

She added: "We hope we've raised a lot of money for charity."
