Eighteen arrested in Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside drugs raids

Eighteen people have been arrested after a series of raids by police targeting drugs in Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside.

Operation Oak involved officers from Lancashire's Serious and Organised Crime Unit and Targeted Crime Units and colleagues from Cumbria and Merseyside.

The 18 arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences were all men aged between 26 and 33.

They are all being questioned at police stations across Lancashire.

Warrants were executed at addresses in Preston, Liverpool and Blackburn, along with a number of addresses in Cumbria.

"This morning's raids are part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of a suspected organised crime group and a drugs supply chain that has seen heroin and cocaine being moved across, and sold in, Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside," said Det Ch Insp Tim Leeson, from Lancashire Constabulary.
