German motorcyclist dies after Chilgrove collision

A 49-year-old motorcyclist from Germany has died following a collision with a car in West Sussex.

He was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after the accident on the B2141 at Chilgrove but died later.

Police said his German classic motorbike was in collision with an Alfa Romeo car at about 10:20 BST.

The driver of the car, a 62-year-old man from Hampshire, was arrested and is being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

It is understood the motorcyclist was on his way to the Goodwood Revival historic motor race meeting, near Chichester.
