A442 embankment fatal crash victim named

A man who died in a crash on the A442 in Worcestershire has been named by police.

James Davies, 20, from Bridgnorth, was killed on Sunday when his car went down an embankment at Shatterford, near Bewdley, and hit trees.

West Mercia Police said they were investigating the collision which took place shortly after 03:00 BST, and were appealing for witnesses.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said Mr Davies was confirmed dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, an inquest was opened by Worcestershire deputy coroner Marguerite Elcock and adjourned, pending reports.
