Thames Valley Police launches non-emergency number 101

Thames Valley Police has gone live with 101, the new national non-emergency number that will replace its 0845 8 505 505 number.

Calls to 101 cost 15p per call from both landlines and mobile networks at any time of day.

Landline calls will link a caller's dialling code to the police force that covers that geographic area.

While calls from mobile phones will be routed using the location of the mast the phone is transmitting from.
