Steps to prevent another mass brawl breaking out at a West Sussex holiday park have been agreed following a meeting with police.

Managers at Butlins in Bognor Regis agreed to meet officers from Sussex Police following the fight on 5 November.

Twelve people from Gravesend in Kent were arrested following the brawl outside a nightclub at the resort.

Six people, including four members of staff, were injured.

'Isolated incident'

Measures agreed include closer scrutiny of block bookings, a review of CCTV cameras and an increase in security staff.

The club has also agreed to improve bar staff training and review its anti-drugs policy.

Chief Insp Jane Derrick said the force was taking the incident very seriously.

Jeremy Pardey, the resort's director, said it was "satisfied with the outcome".

"We are confident that this was an isolated incident and the resort will continue to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere," he said.

The men, arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and violent disorder, have been bailed while inquiries continue.
