Cheshire Police arrest over poppy donation thefts

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the theft of a number of Royal British Legion collection boxes across Cheshire on Armistice Day.

The 33-year-old was taken in for questioning by officers at an address in Latchford, Warrington.

Poppy Appeal donations were stolen from eight locations, including a bakery in Frodsham and outlets in Padgate, Grappenhall and Chester.

Detectives are expected to interview the suspect later.
