Wallingford is given former Pentecostal church

A former Pentecostal church has been given to an Oxfordshire town so it can be used as a new family centre.

South Oxfordshire District Council gave the disused building to Wallingford with a covenant restricting its use to not-for-profit community activities.

The town council has raised over £240,000 to redevelop the building.

The mayor of Wallingford, Colin Dolton, said it would work with groups in the town to make sure the building met as many needs as possible.

He added: "I am delighted that this project can now go ahead."
