Wantage burglary victim follows stolen BMW and Mazda cars

A woman followed two of her family's stolen cars after seeing them being driven away by the thieves.

The burglars raided the home in Copperage Road, near Wantage on the Oxfordshire-Berkshire border, and stole a Mazda TS2 and a BMW on Monday.

As the woman was driving home, she saw the cars and pursued them to a nearby farm where the BMW was dumped and the Mazda was driven off at speed.

Two laptops, watches and jewellery were also taken during the burglary.

Police said the offenders, all men, smashed a rear kitchen window to gain entry.

Round face

They took the keys to the family's five cars - two of which were not taken and a Porsche was left on the lawn with its engine running.

The woman did not approach the thieves but gave police detailed descriptions.

The driver of the Mazda is white, in his late teens to early 20s, clean shaven with short brown, spiky hair and of slim build.

The driver of the BMW is white, about 5ft, aged 16 or 17 with short very blond hair. He was clean shaven with a round face and of a stocky build.

He was wearing dark navy blue track suit bottoms, a light coloured long sleeve top with a zip up the front.

Police believe a green Mini and a white lorry were also used in the incident.
