M54 crash victim named as Mark Taylor-McKail from Wolverhampton

A man who died in a crash on the M54 in Staffordshire has been identified by police as a father-of-two from Wolverhampton.

Mark Taylor-McKail's Renault Megane crashed into the embankment between junctions two and three at Brewood at about 14:55 GMT on 30 December.

The 38-year-old died at the scene. A man travelling with him was treated in hospital for head injuries.

Mr Taylor-McKail's family said he was "loved by many in the community."

A statement released by his family said: "We are all grieving at the moment. Mark was a loving and caring father of two, and was loved by many in the community.

"Mark will be missed by all of his family and friends, as well as the wider community."

The M54 westbound carriageway was closed for about three-and-a-half hours to allow crash investigators to inspect the scene.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact West Midlands Police.
