Winds cause disruption in Cheshire

High winds have been causing disruption across Cheshire, with police being called to more than 27 incidents in four hours.

In Tattenhall, near Chester, a wind-battered electricity pole fell into a tree in Chowley Oak Lane at 8:40 GMT.

Police have closed the road and engineers have been sent to the scene.

In the east of the county, Prestbury and Congleton have been particularly affected, with trees falling into roads.

Police have urged people to take extra care, plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
