Man charged after Kent police officer hit by car

A 30-year-old man from Norwich has been charged with a number of offences after a police officer was hit by a car and left unconscious in the road in Kent.

He is accused of grievous bodily harm with intent to resist arrest, dangerous driving, theft, making off without payment and common assault.

The man was due to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

The charges relate to an incident in Springfield Road, Southborough near Tunbridge Wells, on 9 December.

A 30-year-old woman from Beckenham, south London, who was arrested on suspicion of harbouring a wanted criminal, has been bailed until 14 February.
