Builders Trevor Bateman and David Merriman jailed
Two men have been jailed for carrying out "poorly performed, overpriced or simply unnecessary" building work.
Trevor Bateman, 54, and David Merriman, 49, were were convicted of various fraud-related charges at Oxford Crown Court last month.
Bateman, from Toothill, Swindon, was jailed for four years while Merriman, 49, from Clifton, Nottinghamshire, was jailed for three-and-a-half years.
The pair ran a business called AS Contractors.
During the trial, the court heard their clients were often elderly women, some of whom lived alone.
Former premier league footballer Phil King, 43, of Rodbourne in Swindon, denied six counts of converting criminal property in relation to the trial.
He will not face a retrial after the jury failed to reach a verdict.
