A man wanted by Sussex Police in connection with a string of burglaries has been arrested following an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch programme.

Barrie Williamson, 48, was arrested in Blackpool on Thursday night.

Sussex officers want to question him about at least seven burglaries in Worthing, Lancing, Brighton, Hove, Seaford and Eastbourne last year.

Officers in Lancashire, Dorset, Kent, Norfolk, and Nottinghamshire also want to talk to him about burglaries.

He was also wanted for recall to prison having broken the conditions of his release licence.
