Harlow attempted murder arrest after man found hurt

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 64 year old was found with facial fractures and broken hands on a playing field.

The victim is being treated for his injuries after he was found between Mallows Green and Maples in Harlow, Essex, on Monday night.

He has fractures to his jaw, cheekbones and eye sockets and injuries to his arms.

A 28-year-old man from Hertfordshire is being questioned by police.

Police said the victim, who has not been named, has short dark greying hair, and was wearing a black jacket, pink shirt, grey woollen jumper and blue jeans.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or saw a man fitting the description between 19:00 and 21:00 GMT on Monday.

Police are also looking for the victim's car, a maroon Ford Escort with the registration M953 OAN.
