Cunard cruise ship child abuse accused in court

A former luxury cruise ship worker has appeared in court charged with sexually assaulting a child under 13 and possessing indecent images of children.

Paul Trotter, 34, of Doncaster Road Estate in Pontefract, was remanded in custody after the hearing via video link at Swindon Magistrates' Court.

He is alleged to have abused the child when working for Cunard as a children's activity supervisor.

Mr Trotter will appear at the same court via video link on 15 March.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between December 2010 and January 2011.

Mr Trotter was arrested in August when living in Salisbury and is no longer employed by Cunard.
