Stabbed Liverpool fan in London for Carling Cup Final

A Merseyside man stabbed to death in a London bar had gone to the capital to watch the League Cup final with friends, police said.

Alex Jarmay, 26, from Bromborough, went to watch Liverpool play Cardiff at Wembley Stadium.

The night before the game he was attacked at Bar Uno on Inverness Street in Camden at about midnight on Saturday.

Mr Jarmay was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

A 17-year-old boy and three men, aged 23, 25 and 28, all from London, were arrested in connection with the murder.

All four remain in police custody.

Scotland Yard detectives said neither Mr Jarmay nor any of his group were wearing football colours or acting in a way which would identify them as football supporters.

They added that there was no evidence the incident was sparked by football rivalry.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
