Train row Good Samaritan woman struck with bottle

A Good Samaritan was attacked with a bottle after she challenged two women over their offensive behaviour on a train in Surrey.

The woman challenged the teenagers who verbally abused a passenger on a train at Chessington South.

When she got off the train, the teenagers shoved her and struck her on the side of the head with a bottle.

Police have just released details of the incident, which happened at about 19:00 GMT on Wednesday.

PC Wayne Wabara, of British Transport Police, said: "It is appalling that the women attacked the victim simply for being a Good Samaritan and for challenging their loutish behaviour."
