Staffordshire walkers raise funds for Birmingham charity

A group of Staffordshire ramblers have raised £11,500 for a charity that provides accommodation for families of children in hospital.

More than 50 adults and children walked 25 miles from the Wrekin in Shropshire to Eccleshall for Ronald McDonald House Birmingham.

Schoolboy Harry Wynn from Eccleshall has been treated for cancer at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

His father Peter said the generosity of the community had been "remarkable".

The charity said there are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK.

The Birmingham facility has 60 bedrooms for parents whose children are being treated at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
