Sledgehammer jewel raid in Harrogate: Leeds man arrested

Police investigating a robbery at a jewellers in Harrogate where the doors were smashed off their hinges with a sledgehammer have arrested a man.

Officers said a "substantial" amount was taken from Fattorini's jewellers on Parliament Street on Tuesday morning.

The raiders also took a number of expensive Rolex watches from the property, police said.

A man in his 20s was arrested in Leeds on Thursday morning and is being quizzed by detectives.
