Soldier killed in Afghanistan was a new father

A soldier killed in a roadside bomb blast in Afghanistan on Wednesday became a father only last month.

The 24-year-old has been named as Capt Rupert Bowers.

The Wolverhampton-born soldier lived with his wife Victoria and son Hugo in a small village near Oakham, in Rutland.
