A woman who disappeared from a ferry travelling from the Channel Islands to Dorset has been named.

Sarah Fenton, 39, from Fishponds in Bristol, was last seen by her husband at about 17:30 BST on Sunday.

They were travelling on a Condor Rapide ferry from Guernsey to Poole.

British and French Coastguard searched the waters for Mrs Fenton for five hours, but she could not be found and the search was suspended. Her next of kin have been told.

Det Insp Becky Riggs said: "Sarah's family are very concerned about her and we are investigating the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Sarah on board the ferry to contact me urgently."
