A fundraising sailor hopes to break two world records when he starts a circumnavigation of Great Britain from the Isle of Wight.

Ludo Bennett-Jones is bidding to become the youngest person to sail a dinghy two-handed around the coast and in the shortest time.

The 21-year-old from North Oxford hopes to raise £100,000 for Sports Relief and the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.

He will set sail on his 2,500 mile adventure from East Cowes later.

Mr Bennett-Jones will be joined onboard his 16ft Wayfarer by experienced sailors on various legs of the trip.

He said: "This has never been done before in a two handed dinghy and it is extremely difficult.

"The dangers lie in the shifting wind, the currents around Ireland, the tides and the waves."

The first leg of the trip will see him finish in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.
