Sisters killed in A38 Burton-on-Trent crash named

Two sisters killed in a traffic crash in Staffordshire have been identified.

Parveen Kauser, 38, and Raheela Altaf, 37, of Derby, were in a Lexus involved in the collision on the A38 at Branston, in Burton-on-Trent, on Friday evening.

Three back seat passengers in the Lexus were seriously hurt as were the driver and passengers in a Peugeot which was also involved in the crash.

A 25-year-old woman from Wolverhampton is in a critical condition.

She was a front-seat passenger in the Peugeot.

An 11-year-old boy, a 12-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, passengers in the Lexus, were taken to separate hospitals after the crash. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The Peugeot driver, a 24-year-old man from Derby, and a four-year-old girl in the back of the car were also taken to hospital where again, their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police are appealing to anyone who used the road on Friday evening and who may be able to help the inquiry to contact them.
