The funeral of four members of a family who were found dead in a disused quarry in Shropshire has taken place.

Ceri Fuller, 35, and his children Sam, Rebecca and Charlotte, from the Forest of Dean, were found dead in July.

The children had been stabbed. Police are investigating whether Mr Fuller killed them before taking his own life.

A private service was held at the Forest of Dean Crematorium on Thursday. A public memorial service is due to take place "in the coming weeks".

An inquest into the deaths was opened and adjourned at the end of July while police investigations are completed.

'Grateful'

The four bodies were found at Poles Coppice at Pontesbury Hill, near Shrewsbury, on 16 July.

A post-mortem revealed Mr Fuller, who was from Milkwall, Coleford, died "from multiple injuries consistent with falling from a height".

His son Samuel, 12, and daughters Rebecca Rose, eight, and Charlotte Mae, seven, all died from stab injuries. A knife was recovered from the scene.

The family of Ruth Fuller, wife and mother of the deceased, have said they are "extremely grateful" for the messages of support received.

Johanna Ballard, a relative, said: "We will be arranging a memorial service in the coming weeks which will be open to anyone who wishes to attend.

"We are extremely grateful for all the community's donations towards this, and also towards the charity Mind, who have been particularly supportive over the past few weeks.

"Further details will be given nearer the time. Once again, we thank you for your kindness and understanding."
