Joseph Silvey named as man electrocuted on Dorset rail track

A man electrocuted while trying to cross railway tracks in Dorset has been named as 24-year-old Joseph Silvey.

Mr Silvey, of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, died on Sunday morning at Dorchester South Railway Station, said the British Transport Police (BTP).

BTP Inspector Mick Morris said Mr Silvey had died at the scene.

"We believe he was electrocuted and we are investigating what we believe is a very tragic incident," he said.

BTP officers and South Western Ambulance Service were called to the scene at 04:19 BST.

The inquest into Mr Silvey's death has been opened and adjourned.
