Stuart Smith murder in Liverpool: Fourth man charged

A fourth man has been charged with the murder of a man from London in a street assault in Liverpool, said police.

Stuart Smith died following an assault on in Back Colquitt Street in Liverpool city centre on 2 September.

Hervine Kelly, 41, from Southgate, Enfield, has been remanded in custody by Highbury magistrates to appear at the Old Bailey on 21 September.

Three men also charged with Mr Smith's murder have a plea hearing on 28 November at Liverpool Crown Court.

Joseph Walker, 27, of Pintail Way, Middlesex; Mark McEwen, 39, of Angel Park Gardens, Brixton; and Michael Samuels, 39, of St James Road, Croydon; were arrested at Anfield Stadium during Liverpool FC's match against Arsenal hours after the incident.
