A psychiatric nursing assistant has been found not guilty of sexually assaulting two female patients at a hospital in East Sussex.

Foday Chorr, 46, from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, was cleared of five counts of sexual assault on the women at Eastbourne hospital in June last year.

A jury at Lewes Crown Court returned its verdict after a five-day trial.

"I have maintained my innocence since day one," Mr Chorr said after the hearing. "Justice is done."

He was accused of touching the two female patients, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at Eastbourne District General Hospital between June 10 and 21 last year.

Prosecutor Michael Riley told the court both women were vulnerable and had mental health issues.
